Spring cleaning : the best DIY All Purpose Cleaner

For many of us, conventional products like Windex and Lysol are all we’ve ever known to clean our living spaces. Unfortunately, most of these more conventional brands are filled with harsh chemicals, dyes, and carcinogenic ingredients that have no business making their way into our homes. Everything we spray into the air or put on our skin ultimately ends up inside of our bodies through respiration, touch or other points of entry—so it’s absolutely important to challenge standard products, question their unknown ingredients, and take our health back into our own hands.

DIY All Purpose Cleaner

Are you ready to jump into the world of DIY, and make your own 100% natural all-purpose cleaner? This is my absolute favourite (& very effective) recipe and I know that you’ll enjoy cleaning with it.

Cheers to a healthy home!

  • 2 cups of distilled water
  • ½ cup of liquid Castile soap (I use Dr. Bronner’s — it comes in unscented)
  • 20 drops of your favourite pure essential oil
Suggested essential oil combos:

1) 5 drops each of cinnamon, clove, wild orange, and eucalyptus essential oil (or use 20 drops of doTERRA On Guard Protective Blend) — great antibacterial and protective properties

2) 15 drops of lemon + 5 drops of wild orange essential oil — naturally degreases, remove residue and unwanted markings, and has a cheery and citrusy scent
