HOW WOULD YOU SUM UP THE LOLË FALL-WINTER 2012 COLLECTION IN A FEW WORDS?
The collection features black and white geometric prints, and multi-coloured stripes. Vibrant colours give it added energy. Fall-Winter 2012 is definitely inspired by well-being and an active lifestyle.
WHAT WERE YOUR SOURCES OF INSPIRATION FOR THE FW12 COLLECTION?
While bright, vibrant colours are the Lolë signature, red is at the centre of all the retro shades. Purple, spectrum blue, enamel green and burnt orange revive the era of Olivia Newton-John’s “Let’s Get Physical” and Jane Fonda’s workout tapes.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO WORK WITH THESE DIFFERENT FABRICS, PRINTS AND COLOURS FOR THE COLLECTION?
Because they respond to the different needs of today’s active, urban woman who can wear these clothes at any time of the day. They have to adapt to all her activities, while showing her at her best. They also represent the uniqueness of Lolë.
HOW WOULD YOU CHARACTERIZE THE LOLË WOMAN? DID THE MONTREAL WOMAN INFLUENCE THE LOLË COLLECTIONS?
The Lolë woman likes to be active every day. She embraces life with lively curiosity. She likes to feel feminine but she cares as much about feeling comfortable as about looking good. The Montreal woman definitely influenced the collections! She’s modern and urban, two essential qualities of the Lolë woman.
HOW DO YOU MANAGE TO COMBINE TECHNICAL DEMANDS WITH DESIGN?
With the Lolë product team, whenever you create a style, it has to meet the cornerstones of the brand: technical sophistication, femininity, versatility and comfort. Since we are basically a sportswear brand, everything has to satisfy specific technical requirements and functions for an active lifestyle. So the design is really important and it has to be adapted to those requirements.

The four Lolë design cornerstones: technical sophistication, femininity, versatility and comfort.
WHAT IS YOUR LOLË SIGNATURE?
I would like to bring an element of femininity and elegance to Lolë, which has been my own signature for a long time… without forgetting the history and origin of the brand. I’d like people to associate Lolë with the woman who wears it and with her lifestyle. For this collection, I’ve created more sophisticated, elegant lines. For example, the backs of tops have more elaborate detailing, such as the camisole with asymitrical straps, reminiscent of evening wear.
WHAT COLLECTION ARE YOU WORKING ON NOW? CAN YOU GIVE US THE SCOOP ON THE NEXT LOLË COLLECTION?
On Spring-Summer 2014. I prefer to keep the next collection under wraps. But I can tell you that the collections are continually changing, season after season.
LOLË STANDS FOR “LIVE OUT LOUD EVERYDAY”. HOW DO YOU LIVE EACH DAY TO THE FULLEST?
The way I’ve always lived my life: with a sense of wonder. I enjoy every instant of the day, every wonderful moment. You just need to keep your eyes and heart open.
