Fresher temperature’s arrival always presents me with a huge dilemma. The end of patio season and lazy afternoons on the lakeshore feel like a gut-wrenching tragedy, but the thought of sipping a hot pumpkin-flavored latté, wrapped up in a soft, woolen sweater is equally delightful! The time for lolling about is over; we enthusiastically accept the autumn when we finally change our routine and our wardrobe, shifting toward the warm and cozy side of things. However, because we are not mentally prepared for winter yet, I would like to offer four beauty and well-being tips to keep the sun shining a little longer.
Keep your summer skin tone by moisturizing with the NeoStrata skin care line.
The leaves change colour, just like summer’s bronzy glow fades from our skin. Turning white as snow before the first flakes fall is not an option; we can offer our skin a hydrating boost by choosing from a range of targeted products. NeoStrata is a cosmetic solution with a proven track record in Canada; it offers a complete skin line that delivers outstanding results.
Enjoy a sunshine smoothie made with mango, avocado and banana
Our immune systems will be put to the test with the return of cold and flu season. Keeping a balanced diet is your best ally to thumb your nose at bacteria, so we should offer ourselves a fruity breakfast full of vitamins, healthy fats and protein! My must-have: a smoothie bowl made with mango, avocado and banana, along with Greek yogurt, maple syrup and almond milk. Top with chia and berries rich in antioxidants and you are ready to survive the day (and all of your coughing colleagues)!
Ingredients (2 portions):
1 cup of mango, fresh or frozen
1 avocado, ripe
1 banana, ripe
½ cup of vanilla flavoured Greek yogurt
½ cup of almond milk (or regular milk)
2 tsp of maple syrup
Combine all the ingredients and mix them in a blender until the texture is smooth. Add liquid until you reach the desired consistency.
Exercise outside and enjoy the sun
Running is my favorite sport. Once my feet hit the winding trails along Montréal’s Lachine Canal, my respiratory rhythm carries my spirit away in virtual meditation. The thought of having to face cold and gloomy mornings to train increases my motivation to run while the weather is still mild. My secret? Adapting my dress to weather fluctuations by adopting a strict layering policy! Lolë offers lightweight clothing that provides support and comfort so that you can become one with the climate.
Plan an open-air escape
to fight the autumn blues
Seasonal depression is the biggest setback associated with living in a Nordic country. As they days get shorter, the lack of exposure to natural light affects our sleep and makes us want to become one with Netflix. It’s time to switch into photosynthesis mode by planning an outdoor excursion to relish the orangey landscapes! Apple and pumpkin picking, strolls through picturesque little towns and hiking photography add colour to your Instagram photo gallery… Just bundle up and you’re all set! Lolë’s Lifestyle and Travel collection offers outfits that are laid-back and so comfortable.
